Objectives of the call for projects

•The 2018-2019 call for projects will finance post doctoral student salaries from the spots identified in the “Bioregate International Strategy” roadmap. The Bioregate grant for the salary of this postdoctoral fellow must be part of a collaborative research project including at least one laboratory in the Loire region competent in the fields of Bioregate and one associate partner laboratory that is part of Bioregate’s international strategic partners.

•Project leaders must demonstrate the degree of excellence of their postdoctoral candidate as well as the quality and feasibility of the project to which this postdoctoral student contributes.

•Post-doctoral salaries will be allocated to the pilot laboratory of the research project for a maximum period of 12 to 18 months. The annual salary paid by Bioregate will be a maximum of €45,833, if additional salary is required to make the candidate more attractive, the project leader should find it.

•The objectives of this component “Reception of foreign postdoctoral fellows” are as follows:

•Support research in the field of 4R* medicine

•Priority is given to therapeutic research (soluble factors, cell therapies with or without modified cells, gene therapy, tissue engineering, bio-/nanomaterials, experimental organogenesis, biomechanical repair…)

•Diagnostic research and monitoring tools for restorative and regenerative medicine treatments

•The search for specific or key tools, supports, equipment for the research or development of restorative and regenerative medicine therapies (e. g. 3D/bio printing, improvement of bioproduction systems, 3D cell culture, organoid culture for drug screening…)

•Definition: the term 4R medicine refers to all techniques aimed at restoring a biological function that is lacking, whatever the cause.

•Note 1: If no medical scope is excluded for the projects proposed in this call for proposals, strengthening competitiveness in the osteo-articular, dermatological, metabolic (pancreas, liver), gastroenterological, neuro-muscular and cardiovascular fields is desirable.

•Note 2: Projects on the theme of cancer treatment are not eligible except those on regeneration, for example, projects aimed at reconstructing injured tissues after tumour removal.

•To bring out innovative research. The Bioregate endowment cannot be assimilated to other existing research funding methods. This assistance should enable the acquisition of skills and preliminary results in order to consolidate more competitive financing requests and in particular towards European and international financing or valorisation.

•Strengthen the international development and influence of the Bioregate network of Loire actors by encouraging collaborative research between at least one research structure in the Pays de la Loire Region and an international strategic partner Bioregate.
